I am always on the hunt for a good face mask, and one in particular that tackles acne or blemish-prone skin. This salicylic acid 2% mask by The Ordinary caught my attention on Tik Tok as I was researching their other products. Many beauty influencers gave it a pretty decent review. So while purchasing my other The Ordinary products, I decided to add this to my cart as well!
About The Product & What I Liked
This mask is said to help with dullness and uneven skin texture. What I like about it is that it’s a lightweight mask unlike many heavier clay masks I’ve tried in the past, this one is easily spreadable on your skin, allowing for good coverage with minimal product. Another plus is that it’s vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free. This charcoal and clay blend seems to always do a pretty good job at clearing my skin and leaving it more radiant after use. I have sensitive and combination skin and it didn’t seem to irritate it at all. There was no stinging or super drying/cracking feeling during or after washing it off. What I also liked was that it was pretty inexpensive at $12.50 CAD. Many other reviewers complained that it runs out pretty quick, but I think I’ll get my moneys worth. It’s quite possible these reviewers are applying a thicker layer, whereas I only spread a thin layer on my face and get a pretty good result.
Where To Buy & How I Use It
I purchased mine from Sephora, but you can buy it on their website as well. In terms of how frequent I use it, I’d say about once a week. I take two pea sized amounts and spread a thin, even layer on my freshly washed and dry face. Then, I wait about 10-15 minutes and wash off with luke warm water. I sometimes also use this as a spot treatment when I’m noticing a pimple or zit brewing.
Overall, I would recommend this salicylic acid 2% mask to my fellow ladies and gents looking for a good product to even out their skin complexion. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a message (DM or e-mail!).
With love & gratitude,
